Reindeer Welfare & FAQS

The welfare of our reindeer is our highest priority. We are proud to care for a herd of eight beautiful, friendly reindeer, all of which are maintained to exceptional standards of health, wellbeing, and condition.

Our reindeer are housed in clean, well-maintained environments, with high-quality feed and plenty of space and freedom. They are part of our family, and their care is at the heart of everything we do. We ensure they are happy, healthy, and comfortable at all times, including when attending events.

For their wellbeing, our reindeer are never brought to events alone. A minimum of two reindeer will always attend, as they are much more relaxed and content in the company of their herd. At events, they are displayed in festively decorated holding pens where they can be safely viewed and interacted with under supervision.

What size area do I need for reindeer hire?

For static display hire, our standard enclosures are approximately 4m x 4m. Larger or smaller setups can be arranged depending on your event. All enclosures are fully equipped with astro grass flooring, bedding, food, and water. We can also provide battery-powered lighting and a gazebo if required.

What access and parking is required?

Our vehicles require close access to the display area for safe unloading. Parking must be available for the duration of the booking. Our vehicles are approximately 2.4m high and 10m long. If paid parking is required, this must be covered by the client.

Are the reindeer comfortable in public and around crowds?

Yes, our reindeer are well accustomed to public events and are calm, friendly, and used to being around people. Our experienced handlers ensure they are comfortable and relaxed at all times. The reindeer associate people with food and positive interaction, making them happy to be around guests. They also travel comfortably in purpose-built vehicles. If the reindeer show any signs of discomfort they will be taken off show.

Can we feed or handle the reindeer?

We provide specially formulated, natural feed for our reindeer and do not allow outside food to be given, to ensure their health and safety. In some packages, supervised interaction and feeding may be included, where guests can get close and, in some cases, gently handle the reindeer. All interaction is at the handler's discretion.

What about mess?

All enclosures include astro grass flooring to protect surfaces. Any waste is promptly cleared and removed. Our team will tidy the area thoroughly, leaving your site clean and presentable.

Can the reindeer come indoors?

If you would like the reindeer to be inside a building, this must be discussed and agreed at the time of booking. Indoor appearances are subject to suitability and prior arrangement.

Can I extend my booking on the day?

This may be possible depending on our schedule and reindeer rest periods. Please speak to the handlers on the day, and we will do our best to accommodate where possible but charges will apply.
